If you have a boat, and you have open seats- post it here.
If you need a ride- post it here.
Getting more expensive to play- let's make the most of it! Season's coming up fast....
I have a 24' Trophy pilothouse (2002) that fishes 2/3 perfectly, 4 comfortably. I usually leave out of Westport, and prefer weekdays to weekends- but I fish both. Shared costs are the norm.
I'm always looking for crew that can handle a hot albie bite, untangle birds nests', gaff a fish, bring a great attitude, and enjoy a day on the water- fish or not. If you'll go over the side to change a prop (like my bruddah Mo Betta!) you get brownie points.
Newbies always welcome, but you clean your own puke
Ali- could you anchor this thread? Thanks!

I would love to get out and witness albacore fishing in WA!
I'm good on weekends and can get off on a Friday or Monday with a little bit of notice.
You guys mostly know my story, but here's some more...
Experience:
- Grew up fishing party boats in SoCal
- Lots of experience with a crowded boat and staying calm in chaos
- Great with following a hot fish and staying out of tangles, and getting them out when they do happen
- Fished mostly yellowtail, and have good albacore experience
- I don't know much about trolling, but know surface jigs, yoyo jigs, and plastics/swimbaits well
- I hate to troll, but know how important it is. I do it when it needs to be done, and pull hard to get the fish in quick and a bait or jig out ASAP.
Work:
- I love boats and have no problem helping with prep work and anything that needs to be done when we get back to the dock. The trip isn't over until the captain is on the road heading for home.
- The captain is... well... the captain. Anything he says goes, and what he wants always comes first
- I don't know how to cut fish very well, but don't mind doing it.
- Pretty good at chumming too if needed.
Gear:
- All my gear is back home, but I could bring stuff up if I know I'll be heading out. I have trips home in April and June and can bring stuff back then.
- I will definitely bring up some plastics/swimbaits and assorted surface and yoyo irons.
- I've got a decent 30#/40# setup I think I could get on the plane that has all I would ever need to fish albies.
My Style:
- I'm a hardcore, focused fisherman that knows how to take it easy and just enjoy being on the water.
- I can BS with the best of them, or just be quite and enjoy the water. And I love hearing old fishing stories.
So there you have it. Hit me up anytime: arvin.shajanian@gmail.com . Thanks guys!

I do not have open seats for any of the trips planned so far this year, however, I expect to make quit a few unplanned trips to hit the hot bites.
I would like to find someone in the Vancouver/Portland area that is interested in crewing and can leave on trips with only a few days notice. I will post any open seats here, however, if you want a seat, the best way is to get to know me.
I fish where the fish are biting and run out of many different ports. My first trip to skipper a fishing boat into the Pacific pond was out of Garibaldi over 30 years ago. I have skippered my own boat out of many ports from Tahsis BC to Cabo Baja. My favorite port is Depoe Bay.
I fish small crews since my boat is only 20'. 3 people max including myself. However, my boat is a 1989 Shamrock Predator. It is a very heavy seaworthy saltwater fishing platform. It was made to take on challenging water conditions. I do have an autopilot that I use as a crew member while tuna fishing. My boat has radar, 3 radios, 2 chart plotters, epirb, 3 full time bilge pumps, 3 Gumby survival suits and a back up electrical system. My max safe range to run off shore and fish is 50 miles on the 302 v-8 inboard. I try to stay inside that distance. I have ventured out a little further on really nice flat days. I also have a Yamaha high thrust kicker for back up..
I only have a few boat rules beside "have fun".
1) What you do after we dock from a trip is your business, however, leave all drugs and alcohol on shore.
2) When I am wearing a life jacket or floatation device, so will you, no debate or you will be left on shore.
Times I will be wearing a life jacket are; running in and out of all bars to and from the dock. In the dark or fog. Anytime I feel the weather conditions merit wearing a life jacket. You are free to wear one at all times.
3) Before I take anyone tuna fishing, they must have owned a salt water boat with good experience or, must have spent at least one day on my boat. I will not take a newbie out tuna fishing with out some experience. There is just too much going on in my small boat to learn the operation of my boat and learn how to Tuna fish my boat at the same time, it is pushing the safety envelope.. Any day spent on my boat boat counts, including shad or sturgeon fishing in the river, it does not need to be a salt water trip.

I will have open seats this season for those you may need a ride.
My boat is a 28' Albemarle Express with twin diesels. We've got all of the safety gear plus some. Life raft, epirb, vhfs, gps's, flares, etc. I have a good supply of PFD's. If you require a special size you better bring your own.
On a typical day we will burn 70-125 gallons of fuel depending on how long we stay and how far we go. I am a private vessel and do not charter however do ask for $$$ to help with fuel, bait and ice. I run from Westport and we are lucky that Westport has the CHEAPEST Diesel on the West Coast! If the ice house is open we can fill the boat for $20. To figure out what your donation would be divide the total expense by the number of us onboard. All the fish are spilt unless someone doesn't want part of theirs.
I've got most of the gear, but if you want to bring your fav rig then it's ok. Please don't bring a bunch of stuff that we or you won't use or need.
Depending on our time before we leave, we may go to the store and buy lunch & drinks and share the cost. If you bring your own lunch, remember some goodies to share.
No Drugs. No drinking alchohol onboard until we are tied to the dock at the end of the day.
Please stay and help wash the boat / clean fish / party / take pictures. The more that help the faster it finishes and the one guy who blazed out last season won't likely be back this year.
Don't be late for departure.
We don't turn around for seasickness, unless there is a really compelling reason (like your a hot chick and you beg. Even then we will probably stay out).
I ask everyone to provide a list of contact numbers that we put on a float plan. I will ask you to provide a copy of our float plan to your contact person. Your wife probably doesn't know how to call my wife otherwise.
Non marking shoes or boots only. Wear crocs at your own risk of being the reciever of many jokes throughout the day.
I have a very flexible schedule and will often go on very short notice. The more flexible you can be, the more trips you can get in. I like to go whenever the water conditions permit. I'm much more likely to fill an open seat with someone who is posting on the board frequently, than with someone who's first post is to fill an open seat.
We have a lot of fun and catch lots of tuna. If you fit in good with my regular crew then you have a very good chance to become one of the regular crew.
Looking forward to the 2008 season.
Todd

Todd, I can't tell you how awesome that would be. You just let me know...
I'm going to bring back some surface jigs, yoyo jigs, and plastics when I come back up in April. I don't want to bring a rod and reel until later because I will have those all setup for my 8 day trip in June. But after that, I will bring up a 40# jig reel and see if I can't bring a nice 8 foot all-around bait/jig stick.
I'm telling you guys, if these fish bite as good as you make it sound, and they come up to the surface, you need to throw some surface iron at them. It is a blast!!

I got motivated after getting tired of the begging lottery and picked up my own boat. However, it came from Michigan and could use some salty dog refitting. While I want to get some quality time use on mine a great way to learn is by going with others. I'm from NH and have thousands of east coast fresh and salty time I don't know too much of the local stuff. I got out with Pau Hana and CR Dog last year and would be just as happy crewing as getting crew for mine once I bring it up to speed. I have some injuries from when I was in the infantry but can hang with most anyone. I had one shot at Halibut(35lber) and never caught a ling. I have a very flexible schedule and can drop and go almost any time. I don't care about cash or crap. Basically I operate on "don't screw me and I won't screw you". Just let me know what I owe. I don't mind bringing lunch or staying around to help clean up. I feel like such a cherry...>
