I fished out of Shilshole all morning for a skunk..The 2008 Coho season has been , for me anyway, a total bust. We started at Meadow Point and I even trolled with the downriggers yesterday ( I prefer to mooch ) and ended up fishing the outside at Jeff Head with the fleet. Saw nothing taken on any of the other boats..The killer is I went to the locks with the wife and kid later in the day the there were lots of nice 12# Coho in the fish ladder..Ths is my 3rd week in a row with 1 6# Coho to show for the effort.
Just going to wait for Blackmouth now. Hope it is as good as last year, we hammered them last Nov. and Dec.
Saturday out of ilwaco flat ocean 46 125 41 tuna big live bait bite all day. Sunday farther SW rough and 32 on the troll with a few off of live bait. tossed catfood both days not sure if it helped but was fun throwing out there.
Fished Dolphin Pt. Saturday morning Skunked! Then Jeff Head on Sunday and Zeroed there also. Made a radio call on Saturday to the boats in the area and everyone came up Zero's.
fished the shipwreck area saturday, pulled a 7.5 lb silver outa there. 8 am, Right on the Shipwreck line in 360 feet water, 140 feet of wire out - Green UV Flasher, 30 inch leader, green UV Ace Hi-Fly, worked with the current at 3.5 mph. Actually had a few other nice takedowns, but I've been messing with my leader length so I atribute no-hook up to too short of leader. Tried as short as 24 inches. just looking to entice them a bit more. Sonar is fishy, fish have lock jaw. wierd.
