i see most of there fust just laying in there boats.
may be some cal boys will tell us how thay keep there fish cool
Maybe the Socal boys like rotten fish? The difference between iced bled fish and non iced fish is like comparing sushi to catfood. I'll take mine iced down hard any day of the week.

HOw do you know they're not taking the fish out for pictures just like we do?
Also, it is a lot harder to ice down the cows (like in Mexico)....just a wet towel and the washdown pump seems to work...don't know what that does to the quality.
On the LR boats they have brine tanks and spray brine to chill and freeze the fish. The quality isn't as good as fish that have been "Keterized" but it's far better than fish that haven't been properly taken care of.
If you want cat food quality fish skip the bleeding, gutting and chilling.

Who says everyone in the NW ices down their Tuna?? Read 3X5's report in the OR. forum. I was there when that boat docked and unloaded and can vouch for Randy's story, no ice. I also watched them cleaning the Tuna. Lots of city water hit the Tuna, another no-no. There was crew talk at the dock about the skipper running over the boils and pushing the feeding fish down.
You can find less than knowledgeable people running fishing boats everywhere. I see no need to pick on our southern brothers. They have far more experience catching Tuna than we do and can teach us a thing or two.
