Oh yea...I saw "One armed Bandit" up there. He didn't come up too many weekends if remember right. The seagulls got him pretty good too. They were getting us too until I rigged fishing line across the front of the boat so that they couldn't land.
This last year, I had all my rigs on those kiddy swimming pool noodles, but this year I bought 4 flasher bags and I am just going to have the rigs already attached to the flasher ready to go. I have a good way to rig a whole herring and haven't really used the herring heads. Which herring heads do you like best? A slip knot is good the way your using it because I am assuming the fish ALWAYS gets hooked on the last hook? I don't fish for winter blackmouth but Tom Nelson seems to be pretty reiligiously set against using slip knots with cut plug because he said something to the effect that you can't get a sure set with the leading hook because it slides and when it slides, the fish can knock itself off by prying against the other hook after the leading hook slides down. I don't know about this but your rig sounds like the leading hook is burried in the bait and only used to get the roll so the fish would never see the lead hook, only the trailing hook. I like it. When we fish out of Tahsis, we tie all of our anchovy rigs with trebles, but anchovies are a lot smaller than herring so I would think that the two single hooks would be better for herring.
Yea, I'd like to see your cooler design if you want to take a pic. of it. My I/O hump is curved so I would have to find a nifty way of mounting something on it.
You only use 32" to 36" leader for hoochies at westport? I always run 46in. for hoochies (for summer kings). They like it wild?
Another question: Are you running a battery charger? I think I am going to need to get one with all the electronics I am running.
SORRY COALMINER....DIDN'T MEAN TO HIJACK YOUR THREAD! Bait rigging is somewhat related, right?
