FISHING REAL ESTATE

Hi Guys, my Uncle is retired and interested in purchasing a vacation home. His Grandfather grew up on Whidbey Island and he is interested in this area.

If you were buying a house in Washington, what area would be ideal for:

Crabbing

Fishing: Lings, Butts, Salmon.

Scenic ocean views

Any areas with attached docks?

Looking at getting a 25' pilothouse to keep there.

Price range: up to $600,000

Thanks.

Todd.

We recently purchased property on Orcas Island. There are some VERY nice properties available in the San Juans these days that meet your requirements and budget. If you want a reference for a realtor, PM me, and I'll provide a few names.

River front on the Sol Duc or Bogi near Forks. Nice views, dont flood much and much more secluded than any oceanfront dump in the same area. Easy access to Lapush, Sekiu and Neah. And big freakin Elk wanderin through you front yard, and nice black bear in your back yard.

Oh and some really good river fishin on you front deck.

I have a vac. home in Lagoon Pt. on Whidbey. I am on the water and fishing is really good off the beach mainly for silvers. 1 hour run to the San Juans, 30 min to Partridge and Eastern Bank for halibut, 10 min. to Midchannel and great fishing out front. The views are incredible with views of the Olympics and San Juans, sunsets that a lot of times are better than Hawaii. It is the only spot on the W. side of the island with protected moorage. I keep my boat at my neighbors across the street. In my opinion there is no better place especially since it is less than 2 hours from home in Bellevue.

I completely agree. I have lived on the east coast (NYC), in the south (texas), Midwest (Ohio), and now the west coast (Bellevue). From a relative value stanpoint....Whidbey island is the best priced real estate I have scene. For all the reasons mentioned in the above post it is a steal at the current price point.
