How many of the Washington Bruthahood like to fling lead or steel? What do you like to hunt for and what is your cannon of choice?
Aim high and let em fly.

Ducks and geese in Western WA all fall long. Pheasants in North Dakota first week of November. Benelli SBE II in full camo gets most of the work. Browning Citori O/U when I feel a bit more sporting. There are a few days a year when jumping HO's make me miss having a gun on the boat.

338 Lapua mag, 7mag, 280 norma mag for everything on 4 legs. Got the deer. bear done!! Waiting for the elk. All said and done I still kill things with fins if I'm not in the woods. Fishin is great on the rivers now so its a tough call in the morning on which to do. Either one is better then work!!!! No wings for me, Can't get em to stand still long enough for a good shot. The shot gun thing just doesn't work for some reason... Ever tried to get a goose or duck to take a swim bait on the fly?? Bastards won't take the bait.

Duck and pheasant hunter. Any 12 guage will do. Have private spot in Ellensburg. Like to eat fish better.
Every year doing less hunting and more fishing. Does that mean I am getting older?

We go back once or twice a year to Regent/Mott N.D. for pheasants.
Opening weekend was fabulous as usual. I like shooting .410 and 28gu, but when the wind kicks up and the birds are skittish it's a 20gu.
Lots of juv. birds this year. last winter was a tough one for the birds but the farmers got some pretty good crop yields. They say pheasant numbers were down 30%, but in S.W. North Dakota, Hettinger Couny, rooster counts was not much different than last year and last year was a record.

I hunt ducks and gease in western and eastern wa . Bennelie sbe 2 camo
Wife hunts Eastern WA Deer and Elk .
I cant hunt eastern wa untill her elk season is over .She has dibs on the camper for big game seasons
Unless I get a hotell , I really dont care for public beds so I fish or hunt birds on this side untill she is done . When the bird hunting or fishing is poor ill go over and hunt elk with her . I do like options !!!
Have a nice 16ft john boat with a 60hp merc and it carrys my lay out boat for killing gease and ducks
I am finding myself doing more fishing than hunting this year !! mostley due to have been working on rentel house till wee hours every knight no juice left for hunting ,

I love to harvest what I love to eat. I don't have a permanent hunting partner so I'm ready with archery, mr and muzzle loader. Great time on a buffalo hunt a few years ago meant being loaned an awesome rifle better than any I can affort. Favorite and easiest elk season for me has been late muzzel loader near Mt St Helens, deer...this year was archery at home, delicious. Pheasant for me has been with friends at Pitt's in E. Wash 12 or 20 ga. Fishing...always fishing. I try to have enough gear to share with my daughter and son-in-law. Have a camper, '88 samurai, enduro, assorted boats and try to spoil myself to help prevent too much hiking. Bl Bear, cougar, deer and grouse are abundance at home, Pilchuck River wraps around the hill I live on. So when too much needs fixing, it's possible to stay home and enjoy.

Good idea, TT.
Similar to Kdub...Benelli SBE for E.Wa waterfowl and Browning Citori for the upland. Potholes and the wasteways give me enough duck action. take guides for the goose shootin'. love chasing quail around Brewster and Yaki-vegas. Just getting my 9yo boy started too.
Grew up chasing 4-legged stuff in SW Wa, but not as much now. First deer when I was 10, with a heavy-ass lever action Marlin 30-30. Then moved to a Rem .300 Savage for a couple years after that and the current gack is a Winchester .300 Win Mag. Highlight of my big game career was yearly trips to Wyoming for antelope when I was in college. crap that was fun. get drawn for a buck tag ($150) and then you could buy up to 3 doe tags ($50ea) after that.

I used to hunt birds in California (ducks, quail, dove), but have not done it since I moved up here in WA. Mostly because fishing took over. Partially because I lost my dog shortly after we moved. Anyhow. I have a new pup, who just turned 1 year. He did great on Halibut (Garbage Dump Butts)last June, but I need to put him on birds.
Now, people who have invited me on their boats know that I take pride in my whoring skills. So, if you have room for an extra gun and a pup, please, let me know. I can share my camper, trip costs, provide decoys and miss birds that you then can shoot down. |

I was sitting in my office Tuesday when I looked out the side window and saw 5 pheasant (3 cocks 2 hens) walking down my road. It only took a couple seconds to reach in the closet grab the 11-87 load 3 shells and send the dog out back and tell Rex to get em up. (not bad for 11 years old) Popped 2 of them.
My brother Tim is posing with Rex and dinner. I through them in the crock pot yesterday with some cream of mushroom soup, onions, potatoes, and spices. Damn it was good. The boat is resting so might as well Kill something.
