Agree 100%.

On top of that, when you see snagging, poaching, or anything else, we complain about the LACK of enforcement by WDFW too.

Jeesh! What a fucking cry baby. If you were six years old I would cry for you. But you aren't! You're a grown up, so STFU and get your shit together.

My buddy got a ticket yesterday for not recording his crab. Ya, it sucks, but he didn't whine about it.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: "All Puget Sound Dungeness crab kept are required to be recorded on your Catch Record Card immediately after capture and before fishing again."

WDFW is on top of this rule this year.

All I've got to say is that tickets suck!!! Weather you are right or you are wrong tickets suck. I think that 99% of all sportsman are honest and do the right thing, weather it be passing up a questionable shot on a perfect deer or releasing a keeper King that he/she deemed too small for their own taste. With all this being said there is that one 1% that are bad fucking apples......but I don't think that they spoil the whole barrel. I would find it hard to believe that there are any BD'ers out there that would intentionally skip out on transcribing there catch on a catch card. Ok folks I'm done pontificating!!! Bring on the beatings!

What i heard Josh, was:

My point is shit happens and fish and game doesnt bend. I agree with you buzz2401 and I do try to do my part, however once again, shit happens! I get sick of hearing about the technicality tickets ruining peoples good times....

This equates to me as :

The regulations are too hard to understand and follow, and when try and fail to abide by them fish and game doesn't understand and won't treat me special and let me go. I feel sick. They are ruining my life.

If that's not whining I don't know what is. I propose that fish and game are NOT our mommies, that they are police officers and that they understand us quite well. That's why they give tickets to violators.

And, where did I say you got a ticket? Perhaps you could read my post and point that out for me.

As for you H.S., you might consider taking a little of your own advice.

Yes here in the tech. on this one............if you fish bait you can only CATCH 5 fish period........whether you retain any of them or not. If you fish bait for part of the day.....lets say you start fishing bait catch and release 3 fish, you only have 2 left to catch for your day. Now if you start fishing an artificial lure you can catch and release a 100 fish if you want but could only retain 2 fish . Because of the 3 you caught and released fishing bait...................Confused yet???????????? Well the wdfw believes that all bait caught fish will die so you can't "catch and release" fishing it. I got a warning once(because he wasn't there long enough to prove otherwise) so yeah this is just one little quirk of many that do make some of the rules hard to understand that is why ...................... for me I call wdfw if I believe any rule could be misunderstood by me or misinterpreted by them(on those ones I write down what I was told and by who)

The catch card thing is not all that confusing............it can be untimely.
Bottomline just fill it out....no trouble............ Change your routine to include paperwork..............or get your old lady to go with you............make her in charge of paperwork. You get to deal with the lifting , bait, pincher's, and measuring them.

I have heard you always take those to court. the judge is normally reasonable. if the state wants to ticket faulty crab checking devices they need to provide us with approved crab measuring tools when we purchase a license...

Hi Vance,
Think it's reasonable that if the state is going charge officers with the responsibility of measuring our crabs to determine if they are within legal limits, that they should make sure the enforcers are using calibrated little crab checking plastic thingys?

When the officers checked my crab last Friday they asked me for my little plastic crab measuring thingy. I handed it to them, and they did use it. I felt like that was a good thing.

Then they thanked me for having one on board, and pointed out that most people are using dollar bills to check their crabs.
