San Juan Hawgs

Area 7 opener was hot. Saw lot of nets flying. Went out with my son-in-law and we boated a 24 1/2 and a 22 pounder. Donated some herring to dog-fish; but caught the nooks on green splatter back ACE hi flys off Cypress. Out again first light. Shoud be a great derby next weekend.

Gonna be a good year!!

I second Montana Native's thoughts on the Area 7 opener. There were quite a few fish early last year as well but no where near this big. The water definitely wasn't dead flat but if you could deal with that, it was some dang good fishin'. We hit a 22 and 25 within about an hour of each other during the flood. Here's hoping this is a sign of some great fishing thru September!!

Nice work Gents! We went 1 for 2 with one lost. Fished from 4 to 8. The one we caught was about 14. Not the biggest but ill take it considering the weather and going out after work. Was generally slow out this way. Eastern San Juans could be the ticket right now. Cory, you sandbaggin? Nice fish bro! Hit up North for 1 pass, it was gnarly. Wind, tide were working against us. Fished Open Bay for a pass to get out of the wind and nothing, hit both biters back to back in SJ Channel on the way home.
