2009 Captains and Crews - Open Seats

IF YOU ARE NEW, WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD!

This is the thread where you can post your information and acollades if you have no boat and are looking for an open seat.

OR

If you are Captain, this is where you can post your ride, your specs, what species you target, and if you are looking for some diehard fisherman to fill your seats.

A couple things to remember:

1. If you suck at fishing and life, nobody wants you on their boat. Learning a new fishery is OKAY. Sucking is not.

2. If you come here and post your info. and then never come back to contribute to this brotherhood.....nobody wants you on their boat, and your post will most likely be pulled.

3. Don't use this thread for general discussion.

The old thread was sunset because crews change, people change, and boat ownership status changes. The old thread has not been deleted, so if you want to do a copy and paste into this thread....you are more then welcome.

TIGHT LINES!

If you are active duty and stationed in WA State or TDY/TAD pm me and I will try to get you out on a W/E day to fish depending on weather and prior engagements.

This is ridiculous I know, but its the best I can do.

If anyone ends up on the Eastside (not that eastside, I mean Spokane), I have open seats often for bass, perch, crappie, and the occasional pike over here. Definitely willing to take any BD'er that makes it over the pass out from our place on Lake Spokane to go bash 5+lb largemouth and 4+lb smallmouth. This lake also retains 3 former records and the standing record for Northern Pike at 34 lbs. Carp bowfishing is going on for the next couple months, if thats your game.

Willing to cover all costs here in exchange for SHARING costs on your boat in the salt.

I run two vessels, a 16' aluminum Hewescraft River Runner and a custom built (by me) 22 ft open lobster boat if the party is larger than 3.

The "shit" boat:

Cloud Cap:

I'm also in the process of getting a deal together for a 23' salt ready dory, details TBD.

I'd love to hook up with someone and slay the albies this summer. Deckhanded for 9 years and Skippered for 5 years out of Westport and was always one of the first boats to chase the albacore in the early 90's. Have alternated on some of the charter boats since, still hold my license and am quitting my day job to go back to school this summer, so I will have practically the whole month of August off.

I will help pay expenses (fuel, bait, ice, whatever) and clean the boat before I leave.

Boats run on fuel, not thanks.

I will have open seats from time to time for Salmon and Tuna this summer. I have a 24' Seasport, all the safety gear and jackets. Usually have all the gear unless you have a favorite pole (what Tower Todd said). Bring food, snacks etc. Helping with fuel and cleaning the boat is a must. Typically burn 40 - 80 gallons of fuel depending on how far we go.

OK.. If you want to learn and/or fish MA7, I'll have seats through most of the summer.

Mid week is my preference as weekends are for family, however I'll post if I have a weekend spot open. Generally I have room for two.

The boat is older but in excellent mechanical shape with everything required for the area.

I have gear for an army, so unless you are joined at the hip to a particular rod/reel combo, don't worry about it. You can fish knuckle busters or conventional, your choice.

It's all downrigger fishing with cut plug or hardware depending on the doggies.

Some days we might only run 5 minutes to fish, others we might run to the outside. Regardless, we share the fuel cost. If you lose gear as a result of not listening or plain old stupid, I'll expect you to replace it.

It's supposed to be a great return this year so come on up and have some fun.

I'm a salmon fisherman looking to expand my opportunities. I would love to head out with some of you Tuna experts and experience catching lots of fish, as opposed to a salmon here or there.

Let me know if you have any seats available this summer. I'm more than willing to pay my fair share of the costs.

Though the above information regarding my previous employers may not indicate any direct experience in your field, it does however show that I am very hard working and a very loyal employee. From my experience as a Deckhand aboard Sportfishing vessels I have grown accustomed to working in very labor intensive atmospheres. Sometimes working 20 hour days, multiple days in a row. Through sales positions I have learned the importance of paying attention to detail and customer satisfaction. As you can see I only chose jobs that are outdoors as I love nature and the great outdoors. With my knowledge and experience I am a strong and capable candidate who is willing and able to preform any and all tasks thrown my way.

Put me on the list for open seats. Over the next 2 months I can go anytime, any day. I took my little boat 60 miles out last year and had a blast. Don't have a capable boat at the moment but can share expenses, pack lunches etc and I dont take up as much space as cornfed.

email cisco at csabin@u.washington.edu with potential trip plans.

Added: So I'm a greenhorn tuna fisherman. I'm level headed, learn fast, and dont get sick. Your the captain, I'll do things your way and hopefully learn a thing or two.

Thanks,

Cisco

I have a boat, just not the experience to chase albies in the big blue. Experience is what I'm looking for- on someone else's boat. I'll be the boat bitch for the day, do all the dirty work, follow orders, and pay my share, just to learn. But be forewarned: I will wear crocs.

A weeks notice is helpful, but not required.

Finally got my f@#king account set up. I'm a long time tuna fisher. Started out on the overnight boats out of San Diego in the mid-70's. Been fishing the charter boats out of Westport since 99' (remember the Deluxe?). Tried a private boat 2 years ago with a rookie skipper and his seasick wife. Needless to say, it was not successful.

I'm fishing with Randy on the Rampage Aug. 1-3 and will make it over to Float 5 to hopefully meet some of you guys. I was at TT's and Conrfed's seminar last month - great stuff!. Later Aug. and Sept look to be great.

I'm a CCA member that doesn't own a pair of crocs who has caught several hundred albacore and doesn't mind spiking and bleeding. Happy to share costs and chores.

Hi,

I am very new to this sport and my fiancee and I have recently purchased our first bay boat. Unfortunately, I feel that I have lost him to the sport. Oh well, I guess there could be worse things he could be doing.

Looks like a great forum that isn't so damn uptight!

We like it!!
