Winding down

Well, my boat fishing days are numbered. Work is ramping back up, opportunities are less and less as the season goes, and I'm out of days to take. Ah shit, I hate when this time of the year arrives.

I had 2 great Sundays out of Westport for halibut early in the season, I had an awesome week at Neah Bay, 1 tuna trip that was semi-bust with many other attempts to try for more only to get shut down by the weather, a last minute cancellation for Sekiu (weather), and an awesome skunking at Buoy 10.

Don't get me wrong, the boat is in the ready for a tuna run...IF the weather allows and falls on the weekend.

Big thanks to Mo, TT, and Olybirds (although he's having difficulties accessing the site for some reason) for always ready to share information and guidance on Westport waters. I've got these guys phone numbers on speed dial.

And, also to the rest of the guys who posts reports, numbers, and share their experiences. It's a cool thing...what we've got here.

I'm looking forward to fishn the rivers this winter. Can't wait for next summers Sekiu Halibut opener.

Well I'm off to float the river with the family, decided not to fish today based on the ocean conditions. Will probably hear how flat the ocean was today..damn ..oh well.

We're going to give 'em hell next summer though!

I don't plan on fully winterizing my boat this year, since it gets to stay in a shop now. I hope to do some winter fishing and crabing in Areas 11 and 13.
