A handful do work it... Curt Welch is the name I knew, but he was with Special Moments so I'm confused if that got sold or is just more than Curt.
Regardless, I"m curious how you guys did! I fish it a fair amount and can shoot you some pointers if you need.

| Colloquially known as trout
Had a great time. Met Brian at the dock at 7:00 AM. Caught 7-8 trout. Brain kept two hooked hard for dinner and I kept a nice Cutthroat.
Curt owns the business and works the East side of the state. Brian is a CG Approved licensed Capt and guide on the West side and also Alaska.
Tommy Sturgeon with Dan was only $175 and a half day with Brian was a screaming deal at $75. Both guides REALLY knew thier stuff. Rainbow trout - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Cutthroat trout - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Picasa Web Albums - Quixotic - Lake Washingt...

Harold, it was a pleasure fishing with you and thanks for turning me on to Bloody Decks!
Curt moved to the Moses Lake area after he retired from the Lazy B and still guides over there (walleye mostly). I was fortunate enough to be mentored by him for many years and even more so to be chosen to take over his westside business.
Anyway, this forum seems to be populated by a number of guys who really know their stuff when it comes to big water fishing. If anyone has any questions on anything I might know about, feel free to ask.
I guess alittle intro is in order: I have been fortunate enough to fish salmon in Rivers Inlet, Hakai Pass, WCVI, Sitka, and the Nushagak. As far as local salmon fisheries go, Elliot Bay kings is my fav, followed closely by Shilshole Coho, and the infamous Snoho stinky pinkies. As for Lk WA; my fav is perch perch perch followed by smallmouth bass and of course, cutthroat trout.

Welcome to Bloodydecks, Brian. What is the word on Elliot Bay Kings this year and when will it start getting hot? Wish I could say I have fished Rivers Inlet. i definitely want to do that one of these years. Do you guide on the salt too?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. As for the salt, i don't guide out there since I do not have the required salmon charter license. They are extremely difficult to get since the state has a moratorium on new ones, so you essentially have to buy out an existing operation. But I'm keeping my eyes out for one.
That said, I do fish the salt ALOT for personal meat gathering and I surely don't mind sharing info's. Based on my catch stats of the last 3yrs, I would say fish Ebay on the opener morning and then wait until Aug. The run is trending later and later every year..I remember when July was awesome, but not it isn't worth the wake up call. (Go back and look at the WDFW catch reports for this fishery and look at when the average is a fish a boat or better....you'll see what i mean) That usually is Friday's in late August with a good tide change right at the dawn or dusk. Sat,Sun & Mon are worth fishing too, but statistically, catch rates drop each day on average. I hear the forecast is on par with last year...the question is do they keep it open long enough for us to fish the prime of the run. The WDFW has a nasty habit of yanking the carpet out from uder us on this fishery. It's supposed to be open to Aug 25th
