well here are some pics from a great weekend. We brought in around 15 bottom fish consisting of rocks and greenling also boated and released 4 small lings. the weather was absolutely GLORIOUS (mike) the friendship excellent and the crown is gone... we had one cocksucker on a grady steal one of my shrimp pots (not from our group) but he knows who he is and I hope his dick falls off...

My BOAT HO (ronin) was on time and prepared, he was skilled in fishing and very polite. I would recommend everyone to fill an open seat with this beoootch. He knew when to help out and he paid attention to where things go and how they work on the boat...He also paid his own way and I would welcome him anytime there is room. He can now have title as first mate rather than boat ho.....

We got an earlier than planned start on Friday! The crew arrived early and we loaded the boat, made shrimp bait and hit the road in record time. Hit the launch around 10:30. Final shits were dropped and lunch was made and consumed. Our crew for the weekend, was Luckee Mikee (Chicken Arms), His son T-Bone, Cornfed and Tower Todd. This is a great crew and so much funny shit happened....it was a great time.

The tide was cooking in Deception Pass, so we went to the first little island and started fishing.

We island hopped and fished our way to Jones Island. We pulled into Jones Island, which was our Bloodydecks pre-arranged meeting spot. It was plugged with sail boats and no avilable space. We soon met our first fellow BDer, Quixotic.

We decided to drop the shrimp pots and fish through the slack tide. We caught plenty of nice Spot Shrimp, some Coonstripe Shrimp and a few odd items that we didn't reconize.

We headed into Deer Harbor since Jones Island was plugged, then we called the other fellas to join us. We hooked to a mooring bouy and everyone rafted together. Tonight's crew was Iso Kala, Quixotic, Tin Lizzie, and Dragonballs.

On Saturday, everyone split up in search of fish. The weather was perfect once again!

On our last pot pull, we caught some live bait size sculpins, that Tommy rigged up. We dropped them down and soon after, caught the largest Ling of the trip. It was getting late, so we headed for Deer Harbor, to meet up with the BD gang. There was a two section dock moored to a bouy. We all tied up to the dock and had our own dock party and potluck. Some made shrimp, some steak, some halibut and salmon, cookies, veggies, chocolate. It was an awesome feast. Again flat water. The next morning, Dragonballs overslept and was snoring, so Tommy paid him a visit:

Then Vance diapered up. (See Quixotic's pictures)

We all departed and fished our way back to port. Along the way, we came across a bleak reminder that DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES:

And our youngest mate, T-Bone, caught his first Ling: (Chickenarms was a proud papa)

THANKS FELLAS for a awesome trip. My Crew was excellent. The BDer's we met are all first class and every single one of them, I'd invite on my boat anytime. Hope to see all of you through out the summer and at next years San Juan Islands Trip.

TT

Man.....what an awesome trip!!!

Harold - You caught a ton of fish man! I know you said you released a bunch but I didn't know you were in them like that. Wish I could have said the same for us. We blanked on the greenling, had 4 or 5 undersize lings and one keeper ling that we didn't measure but I guestimated it was around 10 lbs. Should have taken a picture but I was holding the ling underwater so he didn't go ballistic while I released him and the other guys were busy trying to hook up too. Nice job hooking up all those rocks, cabs, and lings!

I wish I would have known the pipe jigs were the ticket. When we got the nice ling, it was off of a live bullhead that we got in our shrimp pot. Todd's bait got hammered but came unglued and then he went over to mine. He bit the bullhead perfectly between the leading single and trailing treble and wasn't even hooked but went for a ride to the surface anyway.

Vance - The pic. of you with an early morning dose of herring scent is priceless. Also the "diaper up" pick. Way to man up and show your true self. You can now join me and Arvin in the leopord skin pillow and yellow crocs category. Welcome to the club. Thanks for "diapering" up.

OTHER NOTABLES:

Mikee - Wish we would have had the camera rolling when you did the craziest aboriginee dance ever when i stuck that big ole hermit crab in your whitey tighties! I had to catch you man or you would have fell on your ass and cracked your head.

Jules - Talking to you about your duty overseas got my adrenaline pumpin. i think I could talk about that stuff all day long. (You probably wouldn't but I like hearing about that stuff and how our guys are doing over there). Way to keep Vance in line when the crown bottle approached "E". i don't ever want to hear about goo grannys ever again though.

I had a great time...The dock party was awesome, and everyone was a class act (for the most part)..... ha ha

You are right Tommy. Meeting everyone was great. I am looking forward to our next adventure. I laughed so much my face hurt. The Tuna at Westport amd bottom fish at Neah Bay better watch out!

Old Skool was the ticket on the jigging. A Lead filled (6") 1/2" copper pipe. You played with the green Avet SX. Nice piece of equipment. I am a converted Avet-head now. I had 65# green Tuf line and a 36"-60# steel leader. The Saltiga West Coast Bait Rod was nice and stiff. I could feel the jig on the bottom dink dink dink. I free spooled the SX with my thumb on the spoll so I could keep in touch with the bottom. I only raised the trip about a foot each jig action. The only thing I might do different is a little larger stinger hook up top. I caught a lot more smaller fish. I released everything but 1 ling I will have for dinner tonight!
