Area 10 and Area 9 Nov. 5th

Took my cousin out to try our luck at Black mouth again. Worked Jeff head hard and didnt see much. Some bait and had one good one on for a sec but pretty slow there. Took him back to the dock at 10:00 so he could go to work, and I decided to head out again. With the wind still pretty calm I ran up to Possession and had good luck there. Got one around 8 lb's on the second drop and hooked up three others. Lost one at the boat just out of my reach and the other two were lost to seals (AWESOME)... The wind started to pick up so I ran back home. There are a bunch of fish there, just need to get rid of those seals. Any Ideas?

John

Thanks for the report. I'm fishing the derby this weekend but may end up fishing north out of the wind.

My understanding is that you may use specific non-lethal methods to "protect your gear". But check the details and decide for yourself.

Great report!

How about a wrist rocket and a bad of marbles? Those SOB seals can see a marble coming a long way off and it scares the crap out of them.

1. don't wave the net, this is a seal magnet.
2. if you see one coming and have fish hanging, point the rod straight down next to the boat and play the fish that way, same reason as #1.
3. heavy lines and horse 'em in when in the company of furbags.

hate those bass-turds.

Best method I have seen is using a water proof firecraker. Only the seal can hear it and they run like hell.

Way to go..I was set to go Saturday but got blown off. I do not fish in thunder and lightning. Rain sure, wind OK..thunder...not so much.

Tight Lines.
