Had a free day today so with the forcast for Sunny sky's and no wind the call was made to Soak some Pots in MA13 for some Dungees. I dug thru the freezer and found a couple left over bags of 2 year old Loins and a couple salmon fillets from 08' that were buried deep in the freezers abyss.
While the pots were soaking, We ran to one of my Chum haunts to search for some Future salmon/steelhead bait. First stop was a bust. No fish around. Head to spot number 2 about 7 miles further away. Pretty much a bust there too.. We are heading back to pull the pots and I spotted a school of fish moving up the inlet. Tossed anchor and decided to give it a few minutes. Good call as we started hooking fish immediately. We had a pretty fun hour or so of continual chums on the line, then the school of fish moved on.
We released a few Bucks and Kept 2 hens.. They produced some beautiful berrys for later use on winter Steelhead!
Had Stacy(Samohr) along and got him into his first Chum using the Float/Chovy Method and light Spinning gear using a Quantum Cabo PT 30, mated to a 9'6" Lamiglas noodle rod!
Oh, and the Dungees Cooperated too!
