OK...I have to jump on the WTF Bandwagon:
Why do car and boat manufacturers have to use an emergency light for signaling routine maintenance? Why does the "Check Engine" come on when my fucking GAS CAP ISN'T ON TIGHT ENOUGH???? (Seriously - it's true) How do you know it's a real issue of concern, if everything is a fucking emergency???
Can't they come up with a light or signal that actually says "This is not an emergency. You can still drive your car, as usual, for months before this becomes an issue. But no matter what, it'll still cost you a grand to repair it, so take your time." Or, you'd think by now, with all the computers on these things these days, that they could figure out how to put a sexy British voice recording on a warning that says "I'm sorry to disturb you sir, but it would be prudent to check your oil."; or "My regrets for interrupting your nap while driving, sir, but you might consider twisting the petrol cover a few more times next time."
Sheesh.
