More chum

So I had the day off today because I had a 24 hour duty yeasterday. I got off watch at 0700, went home and changed and got my gear together and loaded up the car. Was planning on heading to Hoodsport for some chum action by that mees I drive right over the Skok. Got to the skok and said screw it and fished it instead.

Started fishing around 0930 first cast, into a tree accross the river. Started thinking that this was going to be a shitty day. Well about a hour later of nothing I switched to lighter gear, just a small pink and white corkie with sprakles and a size 1 red hook. Two cast later and BAM, looks to be a silver. Get her in closer and see she is hooked by the tail, cut her free and retied the same thing up and next cast BAm agian, this time a nice chrome chum. Went about another 30 mintues with no hook ups. Then swaped out to a chrome and black checkered corkie and a red beed then a #1 red hook. Couple cast into that and Hooked into another nice lookikng chum. Fished about another hour with a cuople of hook ups and none others brought to the shore.

Still was nice to see another silver again, jsut wish she got in the mouth.

So to more chumies for the smoker and a good short day at the river. In a couple days the rivers are going to be shit.

That is because I was raised on river fishing. I still need a boat but will always still hit the rivers as well. I want to fish for ling, hali and some day get a boat to hit the tuna grounds.

Right on Scott, hey have you given Chico creek a try? I went down and checked it out about a week ago and it had lots of chum also...You can get em from shore, but if you are interested, I have a couple fishing kayaks you could use if you wanted. Just shoot me a pm....By the way I live right behind the base.

Good luck and good fishing.

Yep tried Chico a couple times this year with only one caught. I might take you up on that offer here soon.
