| Mission Bay Marlin Club's Marlin Tournament. 9-19-2009 Mission Bay Marlin Club's (MBMC) Charity Heat Marlin Tournament (in its 35th year) is a win-win-win situation: individual anglers, fishing clubs, and the American Heart Association all benefit from this annual event. The tournament includes a catch-and-release format and a club trophy for the best two-boat total among fishing clubs entered.
Individual anglers with qualifying releases or captures earn entries into the big prize drawings. Boats representing organized angling clubs are eligible to win the club trophy, and the club gets its name inscribed on the perpetual trophy that's displayed at the MBMC. Best of all, MBMC donates thousands of dollars to the American Heart Association.
September 19th, lines in begins any time after at 12:01 a.m., and the tournament ends at 8:00p.m. Tackle may be any weight up to and including 80-pound test. One fish per angler may be entered for individual prizes. More than one fish per angler may be entered for the club trophy. An awards banquet will be held the following Sunday.
The tradition is one of fun, camaraderie, and friendly competition while helping to tackle heart disease. For more information, please visit the Mission Bay Marlin Club's Website at www.missionbaymarlinclub.org. |
