Unfortunately Chris will not be able to make it back from overseas in time and the 2009 Dana Point Mako Madness Tournament is cancelled.

A very fine alternative for the same dates, July 25 and 26 is the Mako tournament put on by PCYC out of Oxnard

Is this just because he can't make it back or is it also because of the harsh economic times?

There is definately an interest and those wishing to fish the event however no organizer to run the radio and release camera's. I know of at least 15 - 21 teams this year that had already prepaid and like myself have not missed this event.
This was a well run event classy and sad that Chris is unable to be back due to health reasons. We all miss him and pray for his recovery
