The "BEAST" The record swordfish rod

Savage Rods is introducing a new rod called "The BEAST". This rod will bring in anything to the boat that swims in the big blue. The first time out, it set the Texas State Record for Broadbill Swordfish. This is the ultimate blue water rod. Marlin? Big Tuna? Swords? Grouper? Makos? You name it, it'll beat them.

This is built on a Calstar long range rod blank, Aftco Short Curved Bent Butt and Aftco Big Foot Roller Guides and Wind-On Tip. We knew this would be a beast when putting it together. Everyone I showed it to when putting it together was laughing as it was an over-built rod. But it sure lives up to every expectation we had, and then some. We over built it on purpose.

This is now available for sale. We posted it on our website at www.savagerodsandreels.com You can call me with any questions you may have. 832-971-3050

No, it may not be cheap, but the components aren't cheap either. Each of these components are the best of the best. M****ns has similar rods starting at $1299. We won't be at that price, rest assured. Match this to your 50W or 80W and haul em in. This rod will last you a lifetime with confidence it will bring your catch to the boat.

BOOM!!!!!!!

This rods will be on display at the Houston Holder Fishing Show in March. We'll have Bloody Deck stickers there again and we hope to have a few BD T-shirts available too. But you don't have to wait until then.....

Calstar 'long range rod blank'? and it's $899? No offense bud, but a lot of us are from socal and calstar is in our backyard, you want that kind of dough it may be best to name the blank and length to justify some value. 3 buddies of mine nailed a 450 pound sword on a 765H 2 weeks ago off of Catalina and I couldn't pay them to post their catch, talk about a marketing bonanza.

Blanks are customer choice of Baja Boomer, T665TSS or RT130. Whatever tip, feel or action they are looking for. All these fit with the aftco bent butt just fine. The baja boomer has been pretty popular here in Texas. if they want a GF765H, that can be done too.

Tighthead, all three of those you named are great rods.

yes, i am from Cali, so pretty familiar with Calstar for years.

Jeff , that's a fattie for sure, and probably a cookie cutter to theirs, they towed their fish to Dana where they weighed it, they couldn't get it in their Parker. I'll post something for them soon with a pic, they could give a shit about any pub. They're old school.

Calstar Beef Rods

GF755XXH does it for me! This girl was on a mission from hell, but came to the boat eventually.
Much mahalos to Del Marsh (RIP), who initially turned me on to them, Leon and the Calstar crew, you guys know your stuff.
