Long Beach surf spot

I'm in Long Beach for a few days and would really like to toss some plastics for flatties from the shore. Any recomendations for spots near near LB?

Cheers

Re: Long Beach surf spot

Cherry Beach is a good spot for halibut. I normally drift my kayak up and down the beach, but there are always quite a few people fishing from the "surf". If you look on a map, Junipero just dead ends at the beach. Its metered parking, but inexpensive (.25 every 15 minutes)

good luck

South of the Seal Beach pier - incomming tide - if you're willing to come down a bit.

Re: Long Beach surf spot

Thanks for the quick reply guys! I will probably head down to Cherry. Any tips on lures or colors? I have a bunch of 3 and 4inch swim baits with me. I also plan on going out to the Rusty Hook after work. I'm looking for a nice used trolling rod and maybe a jigstick. Thanks again!

Re: Long Beach surf spot

Late post. All I had were some swim baits, nothing. My buddy got a corobina and lost something big on a Kroc.
