I was fishing in Newport Harbor Monday afternoon on August 20th when I landed this Bonefish. It was released unharmed after this photo was taken.
I caught it on a home cured salted Pinhead Anchovy.
I noticed a few other Bonefish working in the area in the shallows, so there must be a resident population of Bonefish in Newport Harbor
Al "FIT TO BE BIT" Schneider
That's cool, the population must be getting bigger. There was a report last year of a guy getting them on Gulp! Shrimp up in Newport...

Very Cool! Was at Big Fish saturday when a guy brought in a bucket 1/2 filled with water, low and behold he caught a Bonefish in Huntington Harbor and took it back to be released for another day.
I met Al close to 20 years ago when I lived in SD. I was just getting into fishing back then. He used to have the ugliest boat back then but boy did we catch fish. He took me under his wing and taught me allot about fishing. Thanks Allen for helping me be what I am today. I hope to see you soon buddy.
