Re: Corbina

Fish sandcrabs and you should do fine. Also, mussels work well as do blood worms and lugworms.

Re: Corbina

Later in the summer, they seem to get line shy, at least they did last year. Almost no wieght and drop down to 4# with a floro leader. Don't let them see you either.

Holy Shit That is a monster. What was the weight? If I caught one that size, it would be a mount for sure. Wow

Re: Corbina

The spotfin croaker are already here! They are the smaller variety (2-3 lbs.) but are still fun to catch until the bigger models (7 lbs) arrive later this spring and summer. They are a hell of a lot more fun to catch than the corBina unless you hang a 5+ pounder. 20 minute fights on four pound test are the rule with the bigger ones. They can be sight fished just like the corBina. Use the same set up as you would for corBina. Gulp 2" New Penny shrimp work so if there are no sand crabs (the best bait) try them. As you can see from the dates on the pics June is a good month for the spotfin. These were not solo fish but from groups of 6-7 caught on those days. Yes those are the same clothes but different trips.
