daiwa interline HZ surf rod

Hi

anyone knows if they are any good? these are japanese surf rods and are three piece and interlined. Quite expensive rods. All feedback would be appreciated.

That looks like a very long rod, suitable for very long casts. Most of the quality fish in our local surf(corbina, spotfin croaker, leopard sharks and halibut) can be caught in the rips within 50' of the dry sand using ultra light and 4-6# test or medium tackle and 12-15# test. If you use that thing you will probably be casting over the fish. Even if you manage to hook something the challenge and fun of catching them on lighter line will be lost. You could get set up with a decent reel with a good drag and a servicable rod for about $120 total.

it will handle any surf fish you will catch, as well as twenty to twenty five pound salmon runnin' upstream to spawn on the olympic peninsula in washington state,,

Agree with the above. Don't waste your money (at least for San Diego area surf fishing).
