Hooked up on a bloody surfperch, then watched as 200 yards of spectra disappeared. 45 min later a surfer helped me land a bat ray 4.5-5 feet across, 3.5 feet long, weighing approx 100 lbs. 25lb topshot
Sorry for the quality of the pic, I didn't have a camera. By the end of the fight, a dozen people had gathered, half of them hostile. The F-word came out. My new neighbor was there: he called me a killer.
The gill vents on top of the head were so big I used them as handholds to haul it back into the water. Swam away no problem. Wish some BD people were there to have my back. Fuck em
