Cinco De Mayo am

Alright, I headed out to the spot and I got there around 8am I think. HT, overcast and the water wasn't that clear only because the sun wasn't out yet. It was windy and kind of cold because of the wind. The water wasn't bothering me at all. I see some guys fishing far North of me. I started off with the NP Shrimp and got short biters like crazy for about 5 minutes and I had to get fish out of the way to avoid the snunk, so on went the MORF.

**Speaking of the grubs, I lost over 10 the other day because of the perch tearing them apart and ripping them off of the hook. Turner's was out of my fav brand(Kalin's) and I had to buy the last pack of Big Hammer MORF which I don't like nearly as much. **

Ok, so I start working North and nothing for quite a while despite there being short biters at that other hole, but whatever...I'm bound to catch one anyways. So, how would this day be? Only 5 BSP again? I hope not. I start catching the small kine perch and yes, I mean 'kine' A few here and there, all scattered. One nice one comes up and its only around 10 inches. A few more small kine and then another cast. Right when the grub hits the water, instant bendo. Feels like a small Corb....

My first YFC in this area...cool.

Working North, I finally get ripped really hard and I'm not letting this one go....trying to get this one up on shore and after a few minutes:

OMFG....MORF works so well, I got a double-hookup with Batman Jr and a kelp stringer...sweet. Kelp like MORF.

After he was let go to the shock and horror of walkers-by
"Is that a stingray?"
"Batray"
"Those two guys we just passed just caught one about 5 minutes ago! We wouldn't want to be in the water like you with those around!!!"

They were referring to me always standing in calf-thigh-waist high water.

Alright, I'm getting closer and closer to these other two guys who are fishing North of me and from the looks of it, they're hammering the BSP with relative ease. I'm working a hole and I get a few more small kine and then one nice slab. I start working the outside of it and I get hit really good and it feels like a big BSP or small Corb...

Small Corb

Right after that, I get another slab BSP:

After that, I was going back home and I caught 2 more slabs when the Big Hammer dropped the hammer on some BSP. No pics, about the same size of that last BSP in the picture above.

15 BSP
1 YFC
1 Batman Jr
1 Corbina

Quadruple Crown today.

Saw 2 SNGF swimming in front of me at different times...cool.

Hmm...maybe tomorrow again?
