Clamming In Orange County

Does anyone know where to find Pismos in OC.
I poked around the Newport pier area the other day for nada.
The sand was tight, hard and dirty.
Just like how I like my women!
Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Anyway, a friend of mine does well up near Channel Islands in Oxnard.
Rumor has is that the DFG transplanted Pismos from Pismo to the Mexican border back in the 50's & 60's but where???
I know there is a resident population at Manhattan pier in SAN MO BAY but you have to dive for them.
I'm not diving.
Thanks in advance,
Al

You don't judge a fisherman by his gear, but by how much time he spends in his laboratory.

I see a lot of Claming people in Huntington Harbor next to the Simple Green building on the north side of PCH.

Re: Clamming In Orange County

I have come across them a few times in mission beach while digging for sand crabs...atleast i think they were pismos as they were pretty large..not sure what other large clams we have here. Dont think we have any Oregon style clams like tjhe Gooey Ducks
