Killed Um Dana Point Harbor 2/11/09

I fished the harbor today from about 2:00pm to about 7:30pm with my friends Robert, Mike and KC. I started at 2 by myself at the bridge and fished to about 3:30 with no luck. I was throwing a 4" Zoom and at the same time had a strip of squid on another rod fishing the bottom. I moved from the bridge to a spot across from the Wind and Sea and met up with Robert, Mike and KC. It only took a few casts before I hooked and landed an 18" Barracuda on a 4" Zoom with 8 lb test. At 5:15 the Bass bite started. Mike was the first to catch a bass and he landed a small Calico. A few minutes later i hooked up with a quality fish on the squid strip. After a decent fight i pulled in a 13" Sand Bass, which was safety released. A few minutes later Robert hooked up and landed a legal Calico, but he released it. We all caught another Calico and a few more small Sand Basses. We had a lot of bites on the squid strip fished on the bottom. Today was awesome for February. Go Fish!
