First time surf fishing

Jiggz took me out this morning at the peak of high tide to catch some fish from the beach before watching the Chargers make their feeble attempt at playing football. We put our waders on & headed out to find some fish, he gave me the speed lesson in casting, then he left me to the fish. Here's what I caught:

She was the first fish either of us caught, which was followed only by several dinks, all perch (juvies, I think).

It was a beautiful day to fish!

Dude you just don't know. She was FUNNY out there. I showed her how to cast the ultralite Shimano combo ONCE!

Show her how to work the plastics ..................ONCE!!

Then after 30 minutes this woman is one handing , side arm flippin, backhand casting n shit.

I hear her say somthing over the sound of the surf and I am like WHAT?? She says it again , I am like WHAT??? The I look at her rod and she is BBBBENTT!!! The I hear her say HOOK UP........................................I THINK

I walk over to her drag singing tip rockin and she says " I think I have a fish" Well since she isn't even fazed i am thinking maybe its weeds in the surf..that is until I see that freakin PLATTER of a Perch swimming across the current then I get all high pitched little girl voice and start scampering around the surf like Cuda Killer on a cold morning.

Well she got it to the beach and I took her picture We then released her unharmed ...then I got my ass back to fishin because I was NOT going home with a Stripe after THAT fish. I got a bunch of dinks and we went home.

That was her first fish she actually caught on artificials that were not trolled.

Fishing chicks are cool.

That is a jumbo perch. I keep the ultralite in the truck but you can't do that with the shrimp.

Nice Feeeesh. Mission has some slabs lurking out there...and that was one of them. Good to see winter (80 on the beach) hasn't stopped the action...
