Venice Surf

Saw my son who is doing an internship in Santa Monica and decided to do a little surf fishing together. Tried the stretch of beach above MDR jetty, for 10 perch, 2 shovelnose, 1 corbina.......nothing big however. We did try the jetty for an hour, getting 4 undersized halibut on 3" hammers (anchovy pattern). Weather was cool but sun came out around 11 or so. Sorry no pics

BTW, I will be taking my other son to Avalon next Saturday to do some fishing from shore/pier.........besides Mole (spelling?) pier and Green pier, where else can we fish?....... Any feedback welcomed.

You can fish Pebbly Beach. Easy to get too from Avalon towards the East end. 10 minute walk at most. You can catch calico's, sheepshead, whitefish etc.

I have rented a skif and taken it to the quarry area alot of fun. Good Luck
