The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Monday that the club has signed free agent WR Ashley Lelie.
Lelie (6-3, 193) has played in 107 games (59 starts) during his seven-year NFL career (2002-08). He has caught 217 passes for 3,749 yards (17.3 avg.) with 15 TDs and rushed 20 times for 172 yards (8.6 avg.). He has appeared in four postseason contests (three starts), tallying 10 receptions for 152 yards (15.2 avg.) with a TD. Lelie entered the NFL as a first-round draft choice (19th overall) of Denver in 2002. He has seen action with Denver (2002-05), Atlanta (2006), San Francisco (2007) and Oakland (2008).
The Bellflower, California native finished his collegiate career at Hawaii as the school’s all-time leader in receptions (194), receiving yards (3,341) and touchdown catches (32). Lelie totaled 1,713 receiving yards and 19 TD catches as a junior, the highest single-season marks in Western Athletic Conference history to earn all-conference accolades. He lettered in football, track and basketball at Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Chiefs waived WR Jeff Webb on Monday. Webb played in 31 games (three starts) in three seasons with Kansas City (2006-08), catching 36 passes for 382 yards (10.6 avg.) with a TD.

Yes he did.
His recent problems were a result of "I want superstar $$$$".

I couldnt agree more. Chiefs still have no D and are in a rebuild year. Larry Johnson and Dwyane Bowe are in the dog house(two of their better players), 8-8 is the best they will do. Bronco's will suck this year, still didnt do anything with defense and offense is a mess. Charger's aren't as good as they have been in past years, but are the team to beat. My darkhorse is the Raiders. Monster running game, solid defense. If they can just get something out of Jamarcus Russell look out.
peace

Their kickers were the best players on the field yesterday.
Defense gives up 501 yards, rarely pressuring Flacco who has a career best day.
The defense got 1 sack. Thats above average compared to 2008.
Ravens mistakes are the only thing that let the Chiefs stay in the game until the 4th quarter.
KC out.

Ok my fellow Chiefs fans. Losing to the dark side at HOME sucks. But I saw some positives, esp. in the first half.
Matt Cassell looks capable of running the show. I like his demeanor in the pocket. Doesn't panick. Runs well. Still learning the offiense since they fired the OC what, 3 weeks ago?
The offensive line looked better today than a week ago. He had time to throw.
Defense looked to be decent yesterday, although I gotta say, I am underwhelmed by J. Russell. I don't think he looked good at all. Missed a ton of short throws. Is this another overrated Faiders draft pick? Time will tell.
We managed to get some pressure on the quarterback and its paying off. This team should get better as the season goes on and hopefully they will get some wins under their belt.
