For anybody that's ever wondered......

Here are the fighters payouts for the recent WEC 41 event that showcased Mike Brown vs Urijah Faber.

Not much money is being made by most of these guys by profesional sports standards, although there were some added bonuses that were awarded for the knockout of the night, fight of the night and submission of the night which were all $10,000 bonuses. There were also win bonuses for each fight ranging from $2000 to $13,000 (Brown Faber fight)

Urijah himself did supposedly make considerably more than what was shown due to other bonuses and endorsements. One another note regarding Urijah, he had surgery on his injured hand on Wednesday and all was said to go good. There was also a slight possibility that he suffered a fracture to his left thumb as well, and it's undetermined as of now weather that will need surgery as well, as Urijah was hoping not to have two hands rendered useless at the same time.

Back on the subject of pay and what does strike me odd, is that Jens Pulver was paid the most of any fighter that night for just his fight alone (this doesnt count other fighters bonuses).

Here are your fighters paydays in the below link.

I agree bro, somebody is definitely doing quite alright. While I beleive many sports salaries are way out of control, these guys should be making more. With the WEC being a free cable event the money is quite a bit less than their popular big brother UFC. Even with the UFC being PPV events they still rake in far less than most of your current top ranked PPV boxing matches.

Right now the sport is exploding, so these top guys right now are paving the way for better paydays for the upcoming fighters of the near future.

Has alot to do with their negotiating skills too, i bet. Id imagine some of these younger guys are getting their clock cleaned by the promotors, which must be true when you see guys fighting on TV for $1500.

Sucks to see Uriah fight w/ a broken hand for 20+ minutes and make $5K less than Pulver who lost miserably in 30 seconds!!!! And Brown only made a bit more than Faber in a title fight win.

Maybe alot of money for one fight, but these guys put in years of training to get into position for this kind of money.................they are earning it. Looking at how most of the top fighters only fight every 3-4 more months or more they probably rely on sponsors and endorsments more than their fight pay?
