Dude nice goat. That thing is huge. Ive always wanted to get into spearfishing but havent really had anyone to talk to about it. How do you like it? What does a decent gun cost for a beginner? Also, is it hard or not?

spearfishing is IMO a completely different game from fishing.
It involves a more one on one chase with the fish and lets you be selective with what you kill. Not whatever just bites the hook.
There is def. some skill, basic snorkeling equipment is needed + wetsuit for colder months and weightbelt, knife, etc...but you can get into it pretty easily in the summer with just a mask, snorkel, fins and a polespear and can hunt corbina in the surf zone. That is the best way to start.
A decent gun will cost you about $150 or a beginner pole spear will cost about $15-30. Its a whole different experience from regular fishing and is not for some people. You will either love it or hate it but it cant hurt to try!
