Gamera Baenre
A terrible tragedy for Jesus Marti's family and friends. Be careful out there everyone.

I used to dive the Bottom Scratcher/Sand Dollar all the time when they were still owned by Ken. They are great dive boats and I always had a great time whether I was hunting/gathering, freediving or tech diving on them. They were some of the first boats with Nitrox onboard. I thought that the Bottom Scratcher was in San Diego now, or does it move up here for the bug season?

The bottom scratcher is kept in Long Beach. The Sand Dollar is in San Pedro.

sad story.... i dont know how you can go 2 minutes without checking your air and guages.... sounds like he blew it along with the instructor who he signaled... it seems like the accidents always come from human behavior, not technical malfunction... be smart out there underwater!! prayers to his family!

i was at two harbors the weekend this happened and the rumors where far from what the blog was talking about. everybody thought he was diving after having too much to drink and never came up.

it just sucks when a fellow diver falls. if my dive buddy didnt understand i would litterally grab the octopus and go for it. no messing around.

gosh that sucks.
