Halibut hot spots in so.orange county

I've only been diving for a year now and I want to graduate up from spearing perch and small bass to Halibut. I have good luck up in Palos Verdes but no luck in Laguna or San Clemente. Are there some decent halibut populations down here? I'd be grateful for any help.

There are Chris. Look to the beach at Aliso, north side. Thousand steps can have them. If there is any vis, Doheney has some. Sometimes Salt Creek, Cress st. have them. Emeral bay is a good starting spot also.

hey i saw you gotr hated on big time on spearboard chris. That sucks man. I dont knwo what up with that site lately but they pulled my ability to post there. They think there saving the world of spearfishing by kicking people out the board, instead they should welcome and educate newcomers and not be so elitist.
Anyway good luck with finding a halibut, there pretty hard at first but after you find the first one your eyes pick up on things in the sand and you find them easier because you know what to look for.
