| Timski is returning my gun
I sent a PM to Timski this evening and I just spoke with his father. Everything is cool and this whole mess has been resolved; the gun is coming back to me, and in return, Tim is getting a brand new 55" hybrid that Poseidonsub graciously offered.
A sincere thank you to everyone.
Now let's bury this thing and get out in the water!

Glad to hear but I do not think this kid should be rewarded one bit for his ridiculous attitude.

Ditto that...where is the lesson. Fuck people over, and get rewarded. Wrong message.
Glad the gun is getting back to the rightful owner, but this kid deserves nothing but a good ass kicking.
He needs to earn back the respect he never really had in the first place.
He finally did the right thing....that should be a self reward in it's self.
Manning up and saying sorry, and taking responsibility is great, and is commendable...but there are also consequences of your action....saying sorry is part of it, but the other part is excepting what comes from those consequences...such as getting chops busted on the WWW, getting called on you lack of moral integrity, public apologies, learning to be humble, dealing with the wrath of authority figures like your father, cops and teachers.....how you handle these consequences will reflect on how much you truly learned from the ordeal.
Getting a new gun does nothing to help this kid, but only reinforces that dishonesty, and lack of integrity have no real consequences..
Rant off.

Glad the gun is getting back to the owner. Weird journey but again pretty cool that BD got a gun last seen attached to a WSB back to the owner. Now, where is the wsb meat???

Now let's bury this thing and get out in the water! | Glad the gun is finally making it's way home, but he shouldn't get a damn thing but his ass kicked for the way he acted. You do realize he didn't want to give the gun back. He was forced too.

Austin, Blackfish, ??, merc, pup - I agree that he shouldn't be rewarded for being forced to do the right thing, HOWEVER, those of us that promised a reward would be doing something pretty shitty if we didn't follow through on our promises as well, right?
Timski - if you read this, 3 things:
1) Thankyou for returning the gun
2) I called you some pretty nasty names when you said you wouldn't return that gun. I was a bit over the top and out of line. I apologize. Adults shouldn't talk to kids that way.
3) I said if you returned the gun i'd put you on some hite seabass. I meant that and stand by my word. if you want, PM me and i can take you and/or your brother out to a spot or two where the WSB will be thick, and usually bigger grade. i can even loan you a gun to use if you don't have the right equipment. Wether or not you actually manage to shoot one is up to you.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting your gun back. As I am sure you will, thank him and try to talk to him and assure him he did the right thing. The way I look at it, he so far has a chance to have a new gun and a trip for WSB. Maybe he earned it, probably not, but, maybe he is around some bad influence and isn't sure what happenes when you do good things for others. Here, we based him down so low that I don't know how he kept coming back, I guess he had nowhere else to go, now here we should all say good job. At least now all his threads may not be closed and he gets to stay here at BD.

Happy to hear this drama had a happy ending. The whole thing just blows me away really. What a testament to the influence this community here at BD has. Without BD, I doubt this story would have had the same ending...
I guess the lesson is don't fuck with a BDer because you will lose. We all watch each others backs around here...
