| Need Help Cleaning Shimano Curado 200
I just picked up an old rod with a Shimano Bantam Curado 200 on it and the thing is beat to crap, Pretty sure the guy found it as parts of it were caked with mud, grime, and shit basically. But I paid $30 and got the rod, the reel, and 20 rapala lures so I can't complain. Anyways I took off the side ad front plates and cleaned them up alright with some fresh water and dish soap. So gonna oil them with some reel oil and then put them back on.
The real question is what do I do with the other side where all the gears etc are. I'm not experienced enough to take that apart I don't think (and was told), I was recommended to put dish soap in through the opening that shows up when you take the front plate off and then rinse it out with fresh water. Anyone say if thats a good idea? I would take it to a tackle shop but don't know any around where I'm at and would rather do it myself if at all possible.
Any help is awesome and I can try to take and post some pics if that will help someone be able to help me.
Thanks
Edit: I'm not in Costa Mesa now, in SLO at school, if I were in Costa Mesa I would know plenty of tackle shops to go to.
