i have learnd over the times i have speared big halibut that when they are looking aroung (like a camilion all crazy eyes) that if both eyes suddenly stop and you havent shot at him with your spear you arnot gonna get him because when both eyes look directly at you he is gone it will shoot off like a bullit trust me i know i got 2 last night over there at cabrillo boatdocks and after getting the first one with my hawian sling i went about another 10FT and got another and i saw 3 in one spot all about 10lbs so i just shot the one that was closest but try to dive at night for them with a light because they dont spoke so easaly

the hailbut were about 10lbs i saw over 50 a week earlyer but i couldent get a shot i only got one the weekbefor about 15lb but i saw about 5 probibly around 30lbs there were hugeeeeee man they were atleast 25 and up there are some big ones in there but visability suck and they are in the top 10ft of watter just laying on the rocks
