Your parents used to get picked on about penmanship by their older teachers. It used to be a big deal in our society. You couldn't keep a white collar job if you couldn't write a letter with good penmanship. It has gone by the wayside, while emailing has made it increasingly important (more so than to even your parents generation) that you pay attention to how you write. Learn right now how important this is. Everyone who reads your work judges who you are. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's the way it is. Do you want to make a lot of money in this world, or do you want to be pigeon-holed as an uneducated dumbass? It's your choice.
