New to diving.

Summer is coming soon, and i am looking for my first spear gun or Hawaiian sling. I will be diving off a kayak right out side the surf in La Jolla and Oceanside. Also a good pair of fins/masks. So i am looking for recommendations on gear brands/models. Any input is appreciated. Also what would be better for the diving i am going to start a gun or sling.

start with a sling it will make you better when you get a gun. check out spearboard.com theres alot of info thier.

Start with a sling my ass!
Dude ,get a spear gun.So easy a cave man could use it. We killum lots fish ,mmh!

If you start with a sling first. you'll be able to stock the fish you want. so when you get a gun you dont $*&! up when you see the big yellow tail or wsb. Go to spearboard.com and ask every one thier. It will make you a much better diver.
