SDRRC Big Fish Tourney for 2007

Allright guys & gals, here is your chance to help the San Diego Rod & Reel Club make a difference in some of our active military kids. Proceeds from the tourney will help pay for fishing trip like this one...

http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/in...t-success.html (1st "Children of the Troops" Charter a great success!!!)

We currently have the next trip scheduled for July 29th. And a 3rd being scheduled aboard the Malihini for sometime in August I beleive.

"Rock Cod" Rick Maxa will emcee the "Big Fish Tourney Seminar" on August 2nd at 6pm. This will be at the Bali Hai Resturant, 2230 Shelter Island Drive. We'll have a huge raffle, some of our supporting vendors and all the information you need to enter the tourney. To qualify for the early bird sign up of $75 per person you need to enter by the night of the seminar. As long as you pay for the spots you may submit names at a later date.

The Tournament itself starts on August 17th at 6pm for the Captains meeting, located at the wave gazebo next to Shelter Island launch ramp.

You must weigh in by 10am on Sunday either at the Marlin Club,(need to verify) or at Dana Landing in Mission Bay, (also need to verify).

It's a great time and a great way to help support our military. For more info, pm me, go to the club website, San Diego Rod & Reel Club or just show up at the Seminar.

Re: SDRRC Big Fish Tourney for 2007

Thanks guys!!!!!

This is a great tourney for those that can't make it to PV for the Tuna Tourney.

Marlin, Tuna & Shark catagories & a great side Yellowtail & Dorado jackpot.

We got 1st place the tuna division last year & it turned out to be a free trip with paying all expensise from what we won.

Re: SDRRC Big Fish Tourney for 2007

If you don't have plans you can still sign up at the Captains Meeting starting at 6pm on Friday 08/17/07 at the Wave Gazebo on Shelter Island.

With Banquest at the Bali Hai on Sunday at noon.

Re: SDRRC Big Fish Tourney for 2007

I love this tournament, it has always been a favorite small boat tournament for me! This past year has been kicking my ass on making these tournys though, and as it stands it is almost gauranteed that I have to work this weekend unless some miracle happens.

Question though Jason, what size is the minimum in the shark division? As I recall I think it was 150lbs, is this correct?

Thanks for the PM the other day regarding this tourney!
