Like a lot of you, I use jb 200 hollow , insert 4 to 5 feet of 100-130 floro and then use the appropriate sato crimp. I finish my top shot off with about an inch or so of the 2 part Jerry brown adhesive.
Zero failure, works great.
My question is, how long can I store and feel safe using these pre made top shots. I store them inside, in a case, minimal heat.
Would it be the same with both floro and mono?

Bill, I would inspect the crimp with a maginifying glass to make sure there is no corrosion, Then maybe add another small section of fresh glue, especially on the flouro as glue doesn't quite stick as well to flouro.
I have used them from one season to the next but never more than that.
I try to make just enough and take my tools and make as needed on the boat. that way I don't have many left over.
Good Luck this season

I'm going to use some topshots Brad Baron left me when he left for Costa Rica, that Brad made before May 2006. Flouro has a very long shelf life. I will simply slide a new crimp on, get it about 1.5" to 2" from the last crimp, swage it and reglue, then just add water.
IMO, if you are making flouro topshots, they don't go bad.

The shelf life on properly stored mono and fluoro is 3-5 years. As for re-glueing a bonded area that already has adhesive applied, I don't think it does much good to go over the same spot as it doesn't soak in again. I would try a different spot...

Been working ok for some time now with no failures.

Yes, I saw your method as correct David, just wanted to state that one should in fact choose a different spot, not try to re-apply adhesive in the same spot as before.

While we're making topshots and loop to loop wind-ons, I'm getting ready to make up a bunch myself. I've already got some heavy fluorcarbon ordered, and when I get it if the price goes through, I'll let you know where to order some. I got 130 lb and 150 lb Seaguar, 30 meter coils, and now I'm looking at getting a couple of coils or wrist spools of mono.
I'm looking at diameters and I see the Seaguar fluoro 130 is .050 and the 150 is .055. I'm now looking at getting some Jinkai leader coils from Ringed Hooks. Diameters are like this: 130 lb = .041, 150 lb = .046, 175 lb = .050, and 200 lb = .052.
I was talking with David over the weekend about fishing the heavy line and some techniques for fishing short leaders versus long leaders. What I get from that discussion and from a lengthy post elsewhere, is that a guy has to be flexible and adapt to changing conditions. I'll be making only three leaders from each of the two coils of Seaguar. One will be a longer one at 15 meters and the other two will be 7.5 meters. Looks like that fits into the 200 lb JB Hollow and I'm going to be using 150# Sato crimps and Swifty glue. That will give me the flexibility to go short if conditions allow and go long if it gets bumpy.
So, I guess I'm asking for a little advice. Am I going with the right sizes on the Seaguar or should I have gotten 90 and 130? How about the Jinkai?
Getting all this ready for a 10 day 11/24-12/4 and appreciate all your input.

Things have to be real scratchy for me to throw 90# at a chance of a decent fish.

Have a look at some larger diameter leader material. IMO the light weight Jinkai can be left at the dock in PV.

The point of the question was basically to purchase the Jinkai in 175 and 200, or 130 and 150. I guess you answered that.
Does that lightweight leader go with catching cows in PV on an Avet LX?
