WTF's up with Guadalupe?

Checking all the long ranger's web sites shows they are all going straight to Cedros/Benitos.I've heard some things about shit going on at the lupe and I'm just wondering if any of you guys got any info on the subject.I know its not just mediocre fishing, someone would at least be checking it out every couple days.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

The red rooster was there on the 9th, arrived around lunch and caught 45 Yellow Fin Tuna from 35 to 65 lbs.....along with a few Yellowtail.....not bad for 1 afternoon. Thats the last report I could find.

But your right....everyones going down south......Not sure why more boats arnt checking the island out....

I hope it starts poping off in the next few days.....going on a 5 day on the Indy on Monday.....I would love to crank on some big Yellow Fin Tuna.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

I heard a few things about them limiting or stopping permiting to fish guadalupe so if that's the case those boats may not have permits to fish there. This could or could not be true heard someone talking about it the shop.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

I believe all the boats received their permits a couple of weeks ago now, and are good for two years. The water temps have been low until the last week. A few Yellow Fin Tuna have been caught with a couple of boats being taxed heavily. Lots of fish stacking up but have not really started to chew quite yet...hopes are high. I just hope a few schools make a run across to some of our local banks.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

3 times in 2 days is a bit rediculous.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

We still have a couple of spots open on our trip 10/5 to 10/10. We confirmed we do have lupe permits and wristbands. Plan is to fish there. I know a lot of trip cancelled on other LR boat due to lack of reservations. We are definately going.

Re: WTF's up with Guadalupe?

Look at tempbreak. The lupe is surrounded by 70 degree water, I think a bit warmer is better.

Yes, was very close to the incident about two weeks ago now.
I agree...... by these actions, they don't want American Sportfishing boats there anymore
