August 26 5-day RP - Lupe news?

Hola;

Anyone headed out on the August 26th 5-day trip on the RP? I think its me and my buddy, and 26 charter members?

Saw the 8-10 post on Lupe opening (or not). Anyone have any more recent scuttlebutt?

Re: August 26 5-day RP - Lupe news?

As of yesterday I was told still no permits but are to be given soon.

Was then told that Yachts can go to Click the image to open in full size.Ensenada and get a Lupe permit. In fact some have and the word from Lupe was COLD-Green water. So it looks like the boats are not missing out on anything.

Re: August 26 5-day RP - Lupe news?

Heard the same..any time. Frank just docked the RP after a 7day..fished Cedros and
south of there for 195 Yellowfin to88lbs and 52 WAHOO. Tell you what..that ROCKS.
I think if the water wasn't Green and 67-68 at the Lupe the RP certainly would have
went or stopped there on a 7 day if they had permits AND if the water was WARMER?
I'm on another 5.5 day ride the 29th..see what shakes. What you have to remember is the LUPE is not only 250 miles SOUTH..it's 150 miles OFF SHORE..so IF you take the "crapshoot" and GO there..and the bite sucks...you'll waste almost a whole 1-2 days going there..fish a day or ?
then back inside to Cedros & Benitos 12-15hr boat ride...roll the dice! Guess we'll see soon?

Me and my son are going so at least 2 other BDers. Looking forward to meeting you.

Best case scenerio at this time is a short ride to some albacore fishing the first day or 2 and then south for big Cedros island yellowtail. Paddies in between hopefully loaded with decent size DODOs and tails.
Oh yeah and at least one day with a wide open greylight bite on WSB. Oh forgot to mention man size rockcod and Halis on the trip back up. Well hopefully some of that will happen and you never know with the bluefin and yellowfin. Unless Guadalupe warms up permits won't be a factor.

I've been tracking Terrafin for a couple of weeks and the water on the lee side has been 70-71.5 for a week with 68 degree water on the south for 10-20nm and all blue; today the 70+ degree water from the south has pushed up and now encompasses the island , it won't be long!

The RP has permits for Lupe.

I'm on the trip after yours, leaving the 31st. I'll probably see ya down there, good luck!

How does the RP have permits and other boats not yet. Are you for sure?

I called the office and asked for myself. That's what I was told. The RP has permits for the lupe. Take it as second info if you want. I think it's legit.

Well I was told that most the L.R. boats have permits issued, they just dont have the actual permit in hand which they need before the go there.
