San Diego Long Range Fishing Thread, August 26 5-day RP - Lupe news? in Fishing Reports; They had all the paper work, sent it back and wasn't filled out right!
Should be Sept.if we get them ...
That's ok there are some big yellows at benitos/ cedros. Love to hook one of those brutes. Went to Point Loma sportfishing saw the Indy and the volume of fish they caught was unreal. From what I saw each angler had to have brought average of 15 fish. Things change day by day who knows you might run into a kelp loaded with BET. Tight Lines
as of 4:00 P.M> today the skipper CANCELLED our trip for 9/03/07 on the CONSTITUTION to lupe due to no permits,he was concerned that if the permits were not issued,he would have a 4.5 day trip to ?I can' really blame him,he got a buisness to run too.Know of any one else that gotten permits?
Jim
I'm on that same charter - it's mostly old long range guys, tuna club members and friends and neighbors. All good guys (at least the ones that I know) - should be plenty of room with only 28.
I'm totally bummed out about this lupe situation. Offshore Albies and big Cedros yellows should be fun... but I was sure hoping that we would get one of the first shots at the lupe. Never know - if it's going to happen Frank and RP should be close to the front of the line.
As of yesterday the RP office is saying they HAVE PERMITS!!! I questioned this but the office gal stuck to her guns. Sorry but did not get her name. I suspect the RP and several others mentioned do have permits which are pending some sort of final approval. Lets hope it happens sooner than later.
I think they all have the permits, they just don't have the permition to use them.It has something to do with Mexican shark dive trips trying to corner the market I hear. They have the wrist bands as well,so as soon as they get OK they are ready.
