Got off the top gun 80 last week and asked the crew why noone is fishing Guadalupe yet. I was told that the mexican govt has not issued permits for long range fishing the island yet!
Last year, I fished the Lupe in September and had to buy a special use flourescent wrist band to fish the island which we wore throughout the trip. It was not that expensive.
Looks worrisome that guadalupe may soon join the Revillas on the forbidden list. what is a summer/fall 5 day going to do?? Who's going to feed all those hungry white sharks that have become addicted to hooked yellowfin??
Just a FYI........all of the Islands in Mexico are going to have Permits within the next couple of years ( Cedros, Benitos, Natividad, San Martin etc.).......their country, their rules.
They dont start issueing them till there friends are done rape-ing the island. Makes a nice place for sainers to hang for the nite. They dont want LR boats to close to them.
