Bye-bye Albacore, but hello Yellow Fin Tuna, Dodos, BET, don't know about Yellowtail...sure is strange there aren't many on the paddies yet. It seems to be a more "normal" season so far this year. The Albies showed up right on time...in numbers. There is a good mix of Blue Fin Tuna, (even though they aren't coming up to play because they are spooked from the heavy seiner pressure), they are here. If it continues the current pattern I think we may see two or three weeks in early August where not much of anything gets caught, (transitional period), and then the Yellow Fin Tuna, and other Pelagics move in. We fish those through September, (primetime for this Year's Tuna Challenge), and then the BET. I think we should see a pretty good Carp season as well...maybe not the best, but very good. Maybe even one, or two nice Blues.
Yep...that sounds good to me. See how good fishing can be sitting behind a keyboard.

A guy can dream though. In the mean time I'll just get out there when I can, and have fun no matter how good...or bad the bite is. Good luck to everyone as the season progresses. Be safe, and have fun. I'm looking forward to fishing with more of you this year. Now go get some!
