| Best knot for spectra to mono/flouro
Hey fellas,
You've probably been asked this a hundred times but....
What's the best knot for spectra to mono/flouro? I used to use the blood knot but i had it fail on smaller fish and I'm doing a 4 day on the Searcher in August and plan on using spectra on some of my reels but need a good knot. The Albright, Bimini or what???? I have no idea. Thought i'd asked the experts. Thanks for the advice in advance. JOE

I have had great success with the uni-uni. I have tied it in line up to ninety pound fluoro using three turns on the fluoro and six on the spectra. A little bulky nut strong. great knot and size for sixty and below. On the sixty I did four and eight turns.

Smaller profile is the stren knot
3 to 4 turn Uni in the mono and 7 turn improved clinch in the spectra
Also like the albright with a 10 to 12 turn yucatan
have fun

sato crimp with swifty glue! A friend on the Excel swears by worm knot to bimini. A pelican at the docks took my bag with sato set up, will probably serve my stuff this season.

Uni to uni works for me. I used to tie a bimini in the spectra, but haven't in a long time and no failure either. Plus, the knot is much smaller, clean low profile. Although this works, I using something else, but won't tell about it until I've caught some real fish on it. Very slick connection, worked well so far on local trips, even hung the bottom codding and it held better than 50# mono.

Larger line has to be the Bimini to Albright. That connection will not break if tied properly.
Light line; back to back uni.

I tie an albright and haven't had any problems 60lb spectra to 40 lb mono/floro and below.

Light line; back to back uni. | That's a bimini in the spectra and attach the mono via albright, right?

| Mono to spectra
If tying leaders to your mono, the Seaguar and the back to back uni will work very well for you.. for ultimate stealth, go straight to your specta.. crimp and glue.. fishSA.com - Uni to Uni Knot [Tackle Talk - Knots & Ties] PowerPro - Catch The Power!
You can also look for the Seaguar knot.. It works very well, eats up less of your fluro tying it than the back to back uni.. If
Here are some other options..
