Re: Best knot for spectra to mono/flouro

I'm new to the deal of fishing braid lines but a spider hitch to make a double line tied to the mono with a surgeon has workedfor me. There are better connections from what I'read but I use it because it's easy to do and to this point has never failed.

Re: Best knot for spectra to mono/flouro

Yep...7-Turn WORM KNOT...strongest so far..and easy to tie...then a UNI knot
thru the Spectra Loop...7-9 turns up to 40lb then 5 turns for 40-50lb works great.

I know tie a worm knot.
I had the albright fail on me when using spectra to floro.
First tie a loop in the spectra via a surgeon's loop then tie the loop around the mono or spectra to make the worm knot.
Very strong and small. This hasn't failed me yet.
It is a very difficult knot to tie on the water unless you're on a 100'+ boat and in flat seas.

Another option: No Name, Yucatan, Bristol knot.

Pay attention to step #3!

Hey Michael,

The Reverse Albright is a.k.a the Worm knot or Braid Leader Knot.

Re: Best knot for spectra to mono/flouro

Hey, David, when are you going to spill the beans on your new knot. Also, when you tie the Uni to uni, how many turns do you use. Do you double the spectra? Finally, has anyone ever used the Bristol aka No Name Knot?
