Calstar 7465M is what I fish 80# on. I have pushed it to 100# and it did fine on fish up 150#'s.

Good choice on the rod, but I never wanted to push a 16 that hard myself. I know Stasi caught a 287 on a Penn 16, but it was history after that, totally trashed.

I will get a 200# on my Accurate 12 someday though.

I have a GUSA URS66 and I'm very happy with it. I don't even bring my Seekers out anymore.

Do those come with safety glasses, or are you on your own to protect from the exploding shrapnel?
I've seen a lot of those explode on big fish.

Nah, no supers. But I will never sell them. Sentimental value too high.

Yes, GUSA rods are the ONLY rods ever known to break. Every other rod on the face of the earth is 100% indestructible. You got me there.

No, not the only rods. I have seen a bunch of big tuna landed, you are safe with Calstar and Seeker. I haven't seen many of those break. I have seen a few of another un-named rod company break. But they have good customer service, so they will remain un-named.
However GUSA, since they have such horrible customer service, do whatever they can to NOT replace the defective rod, get named every time.
Good luck Cast Gold. They sell nice stylish protective eyeware at Home Depot.
