Glue and braided line

Tying spectra to mono is new to me. The Bimini and I get along great and I am familiar with most of the common fishing knots. I want to tie a 40# topper to 64# Spectra and am afraid of the spectra pulling through. I understand a good knot can be made better with a drop of glue but do not know what kind of glue is being refered to. I am afraid that some glues would weaken the line . Please advise.
